Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The president of Sindprof, Li\u0301gia Herbert, today recommended teachers to remain \u201ccalm and serene\u201d in relation to the notification they received from the Ministry of Education, as part of the initiation of the disciplinary process.<\/p>\n

This recommendation was expressed in a statement from this union sent to Inforpress, thus advising teachers not to answer questions from instructors in this process, under penalty of providing data, elements and information to later be worked on and used against the teacher himself, in the eventual phase accusation of the same.<\/p>\n

According to the union leader, members must only provide information to the instructor of the disciplinary process regarding their identification, marital status, residence, affiliation and date of birth.<\/p>\n

He also said, in this regard, that the use of the right to silence, within the scope of any disciplinary process, does not harm the defendant.<\/p>\n

Li\u0301gia Herbert reassures teachers by stating that Sindprof has been closely monitoring the development of this dossier, including providing legal advice to all members and beyond, in order to safeguard their legally protected rights and interests.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, he said that the Ministry of Education must immediately cease any action that could result in the initiation of disciplinary proceedings against teachers who legitimately fight for the advancement of the teaching class.<\/p>\n

In this particular, he stressed that the Government \u201ccannot\u201d convey the idea that negotiations are being fruitful with yielding and reasonableness on the part of the parties and with the other hand avenging the teachers with this disciplinary process.<\/p>\n
