Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>Members of the different institutions in the care network for victims of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) will be trained within the framework of the project to improve access to resources and quality care for women and girls who are victims of GBV.<\/p>\n

The training is scheduled for Thursday, 23rd, and should include three dozen representatives from the institutions, according to project technician Beltrond de Barros.<\/p>\n

In addition to training the different institutions that are part of the service network, the project, which covers the islands of Fogo, Santo Anta\u0303o and Santiago, will equip and open one of the three reception spaces for women and girls who are victims of GBV.<\/p>\n

The other two centers will be installed on the islands of Santo Anta\u0303o and Santiago, aiming to improve resources and assistance for victims of GBV.<\/p>\n

The empowerment of victims of GBV, through a socio-labor itinerary of cutting and sewing and the creation of a cooperative in Santa Cruz, an awareness and prevention campaign on social media and in secondary schools and universities in Santiago, Fogo and Santo Anta\u0303o are part of of the project program.<\/p>\n

The same is being implemented by Fundacio\u0301n Religiosos para la Salud (FRS), Irma\u0303os Capuchinhos de Cabo Verde and Ca\u0301ritas Porto Novo.<\/p>\n

The project began in March 2023 and ends in February 2025 and is financed by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) for an amount of approximately 500 thousand euros.<\/p>\n

The opening of the training will be coordinated by the ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain in Cape Verde, the president of the Cape Verdean Institute for Gender Equality and Equity (ICIEG) and the president of the Sa\u0303o Filipe City Council.<\/p>\n

On the same day, a tripartite protocol will be signed between the Chamber of Sa\u0303o Filipe, ICIEG and Asde, aiming at the reopening and operation of the \u201cMamma Pina\u201d Shelter, witnessed by the ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain and the Spanish non-governmental organization (NGO). who will work on this theme together with the Capuchins.<\/p>\n
