Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Sa\u0303o Vicente Maritime Special Economic Zone (ZEEM-SV) will now have a digital One-Stop Shop that will create a \u201cdirect relationship\u201d and bring \u201cseveral advantages\u201d to both national and international investors.<\/p>\n

The guarantee was given to journalists this Monday by the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, who presided over the presentation of the Balca\u0303o U\u0301nico da ZEEM (BUZ) and the respective regulations, in one of the hotels in the city of Mindelo.<\/p>\n

According to the same source, this project is important because it creates a direct relationship through digital services, and avoids the operator going from service to service to carry out an operation, for example, licensing, opening a company, creating conditions for your installation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a single point of entry and a single point of exit in the relationship with investors, this will make a huge difference\u201d, advocated Ulisses Correia e Silva, for whom this is one of the \u201cmost comprehensive\u201d projects created in Cape Verde.<\/p>\n

With its implementation, he assured, the process of installing ZEEM-SV, created around four years ago to attract private investment in sectors considered to be priorities, will now be accelerated, from port operations, shipbuilding and repair operations, fisheries, tourism linked to the sea, production of renewable energy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have no doubts about the path we are taking, because sometimes it may take longer, but it is preferable to do it well, and to do it safely and with guarantees. We will not create something that bureaucracy then kills, and we have a lot of bureaucracy in Cape Verde that strangles investments\u201d, considered the prime minister, \u201cconfident\u201d in the progress that should happen.<\/p>\n

The Chief Executive assured that there are already companies interested in this investment, both based in Cape Verde and others abroad, and the promotion phase will be intensified, in the different markets, of Sa\u0303o Vicente and its special economic zone.<\/p>\n

As one of the engineers responsible for the project, He\u0301lio Varela admitted that BUZ has \u201cvery interesting characteristics\u201d as it is the first solution in Cape Verde that is digital native.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was developed thinking solely about the external investor, who will enter from a digital point of view and will be able to navigate public administration 100% digitally, without papers, without manual documentation, without even having to travel to Cape Verde\u201d, he explained..<\/p>\n

Through the platform, according to the same source, the aim is to \u201creduce bureaucracy, streamline, integrate public institutions so that there is a single door for investors\u201d.<\/p>\n

BUZ was presented today, in Mindelo, along with part of its regulations, but the idea, according to the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, is to implement it in phases and for it to be fully operational in 2025.<\/p>\n
