Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The president of the Association for the Defense of the Environment and Development (ADAD) today considered it important to adopt environmental education for \u201call\u201d aimed at combating desertification in the country.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Inforpress, regarding World Day to Combat Desertification, which is celebrated on June 17th, the president of ADAD, Janua\u0301rio Nascimento, drew the attention of authorities and civil society to the need to adopt practices that allow for protection of the environment.<\/p>\n

In this case, he recommended a \u201cstrong investment\u201d in planting trees, suitable for the soil, but above all in the care that must be taken with these plantations.<\/p>\n

\u201c Starting with schools, also involving national and international partners, so that this great fight against desertification is effective, as it is also closely linked to climate change \u201d, said Janua\u0301rio Nascimento.<\/p>\n

For the president of ADAD, it is necessary to join forces to save the planet, in this case, he mentioned sustainability in all activities, that is, to make people aware of the need to take care of the environment.<\/p>\n

A subject that according to him will be addressed at the Save the Planet Forum and 30 Years of the Convention on Desertification to be held today at the University of Cape Verde.<\/p>\n

\u201c This event represents a joint effort by diverse entities, including government, academic and civil society organizations, to address pertinent issues related to the preservation of the marine and terrestrial ecosystem, in line with the United Nations Decade for Ecosystem Recovery ( 2021-2030)\u201d.<\/p>\n
