Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The president of Sindprof said today that the proposal for the Career, Functions and Remuneration Plan (PCFR) and the new statute for teaching staff continue to not serve the class, reinforcing that there is a lot to be reviewed.<\/p>\n

Li\u0301gia Herbert made these considerations in statements to the press after meetings held with teachers at Liceu Ami\u0301lcar Cabral, in Assomada, to share the proposals with teachers, highlighting that they have fifteen days to give an opinion to the Ministry of Education.<\/p>\n

In this sense, he explained that the opinion should not be given by the union, but by the union’s professionals, in this case the teachers, and for them to be able to position themselves in the best way, it is necessary to socialize and clarify the various points of the documents.<\/p>\n

With these proposals in hand, the president of the Democratic Teachers’ Union (Sindprof) considered that they still do not serve the class, as there is a lot to be reviewed, namely, career development, the issue of promotions that had been discussed for five in five years and now there is talk of five to ten years, ten to fifteen and so on.<\/p>\n

This trade unionist also considered that the statute came as \u201can attack on trade union organizations\u201d, as it takes away the rights already acquired by the teaching class, but which they will not accept.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are already trying to muzzle teachers through disciplinary processes because they fought for an improvement in salary, an improvement in their career\u201d, said Li\u0301gia Herbert, guaranteeing that the union is \u201carm\u2019s length\u201d in the inspection in relation to disciplinary processes of more than 200 teachers, questioning the legal basis for these processes.<\/p>\n

As for the statute, he highlighted that the opinion will be given, but that they will present all the ‘snags’ and both the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Public Administration must carefully analyze this document and the teachers’ PCFR.<\/p>\n

If the ministry does not accept the ‘snags’ of the class, the union leader made it clear that they will continue the fight, highlighting that teachers cannot be afraid, and that each one must face their own problems, in this case, work problems.<\/p>\n

This fight is being fought at a national level and, in addition to the points highlighted, what appears \u201cwrong\u201d in the proposals presented are the verbs, considering that they are \u201cbanana peels thrown at teachers, but they will not let it go\u201d.<\/p>\n
