Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>Chile’s first ambassador to Cape Verde said today that her country is studying areas to exchange experience with the archipelago, considering that this could be a “gateway” for Chile to Africa.<\/p>\n

Marina Teitelboim made these statements after handing over her letters of credentials to the President of the Republic, Jose\u0301 Maria Neves, at the Presidency Palace, in the City of Praia.<\/p>\n

The non-resident ambassador also stated that this country is interested in cooperating with members of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), highlighting that Chile is expanding its cooperation with Africa and that this continent has an “important role” and with which can be cooperated in different sectors.<\/p>\n

The diplomat also took the opportunity to show her satisfaction at being in Cape Verde.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the same source referred to a set of issues that were discussed after the delivery of the credentials to the highest magistrate of the Nation, namely, the sectors of politics, education, blue economy and commerce, considering that Cape Verde has experience in these sectors.<\/p>\n

With this, he maintained that in the future Chile plans to expand cooperation in several sectors, but that first it is necessary to study each of these sectors.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that the Chilean embassy is based in Lisbon, Portugal, and this is the first time that Cape Verde has received credentials from a Chilean diplomat.<\/p>\n

Even today, Jose\u0301 Maria Neves receives, in Praia, the letters of credentials of new ambassadors from Cyprus, Hungary, the Philippines, DR Congo, Bangladesh and Sa\u0303o Tome\u0301 Pri\u0301ncipe, after also receiving the letters of credentials from the ambassador of Palestine.<\/p>\n
