Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Cape Verde football team will play in Group C, together with those of Botswana, Mauritania and Egypt, to access the final phase of the African Nations Championship (CAN) 2025, to be held in Morocco.<\/p>\n

The draw took place today in Johannesburg (South Africa) by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).<\/p>\n

Qualifiers are scheduled to begin in September 2024 to determine the 24 nations that will compete in the biggest football event on the African continent.<\/p>\n

Only the top two teams from each group advance to the final stage, with only one place in Group K, as Morocco, the host of the competition, has already guaranteed qualification.<\/p>\n

Of the teams in this group, Egypt is the best ranked in the Fe\u0301de\u0301ration Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) ranking, occupying 36th position, ahead of Cape Verde (65), Mauritania (112) and Botswana (145).<\/p>\n

Cape Verde will attempt its fifth participation in a CAN final phase, after its presences in 2013, in South Africa, in 2015, in Equatorial Guinea, in 2021, in Cameroon, and in 2023, in Ivory Coast.<\/p>\n

Group H: DR Congo, Guinea-Conakry, Tanzania, Ethiopia;<\/p>\n

Group I: Mali, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, Eswatini;<\/p>\n
