Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>Cha\u0303 das Caldeiras’ sustainable tourism projects are socialized today at a seminar that will be attended by the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva.<\/p>\n

The event, which was scheduled for last May, was postponed due to problems with air connections that made it impossible for the Minister of Tourism and Transport, Carlos Santos, and other participants to travel to the island.<\/p>\n

The opening of the project socialization seminar will take place in the tourist community of Cha\u0303 das Caldeiras, under the responsibility of the Minister of Tourism and Transport, and the closing by the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva.<\/p>\n

The event, according to the organizers, intends, initially, to promote the socialization of the axes of the Rural Villages Tourism and Environmental Enhancement Program (PVTAAR), through the approach of the program’s intervention and communication strategy.<\/p>\n

Secondly, specific projects will be presented to enhance rural tourism and the tourist sustainability of villages, with a focus on boosting the local economy and increasing family income in Cha\u0303 das Caldeiras.<\/p>\n

PVTAAR aims to diversify the tourist offer and improve basic sanitation and living conditions in a network of 18 selected villages, with financing from tourism and environmental funds and seeks to sustainably develop rural villages with tourist potential and transform villages into spaces for tourism practice.<\/p>\n

The planned interventions include requalification, conservation and improvement of environmental quality, with landscaping, rehabilitation of housing, reinforcement of basic sanitation and water supply.<\/p>\n

Within the framework of PVTAAR, training and capacity building activities for entrepreneurship, environmental awareness and education, and promotion of tourism offer through national and international itineraries are planned.<\/p>\n

At the end of the event, the prime minister will launch the Rural Village of Cha\u0303 das Caldeiras, in the municipality of Santa Catarina do Fogo.<\/p>\n

On Friday, the 12th, the head of Government will preside over the launch of the Rural Villages of Campanas de Cima (Sa\u0303o Filipe) and Pai Anto\u0301nio (Mosteiros).<\/p>\n
