Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The deputies of the Movement for Democracy (MpD, power) elected by Santo Anta\u0303o pointed out today some challenges faced by the municipality of Paul that considered it \u201cpending\u201d regarding the de-encryption of some localities, social housing and fishing.<\/p>\n

Adilson Fernandes, a spokesman for the group, told reporters during the balance of the three-day visit to the municipality of Paul that there is an urgent need to undecrypt the areas of Pedra das Moc\u0327as and Ribeira da Penedo.<\/p>\n

These localities, according to the deputy, have great agricultural potential and therefore lack adequate infrastructure for accessibility and mobilization of water resources.<\/p>\n

According to the politician, the goal is not only to open roads, but also to ensure the supply of water at affordable prices to boost local agricultural activity.<\/p>\n

With regard to social housing, the same source said that the paulense building already has requalified more than 400 dwellings in the municipality.<\/p>\n

\u201cA significant advance, but there are still challenges to overcome. The focus continues to be to improve the living conditions and dignity of residents, especially in areas affected by housing inequality,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

As for the fishing sector, Adilson Fernandes said that the dragper construction project in the area of Penedo de Janela, within the Paul municipality, will be a crucial step for the development of local fisheries.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith the financing provided by the World Bank, through the State Budget for 2024, this initiative is expected to boost not only the local economy, but also strengthen the sector of resilient tourism and the blue economy in the region,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In addition, Adilson Fernandes acknowledged that there are also gains in the municipality regarding the urban requalification of Pontinha de Janela and Penedo.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an integrated project that will substantially improve the quality of life of the people of these two locations. We are talking about a fishing community, but we are also talking about a community that has immense potential in terms of tourism,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The project, according to the same source, will change the physiognomy of the two locations, improving the living conditions of people and attracting important private investments.<\/p>\n
