Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Government, through the Ministry of Education, in partnership with UNICEF, announced the launch of the Support Programme for Priority Educational Reform in Cape Verde (PAREP-CV), following approval of funding from the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) grant, worth US$5 million.<\/p>\n

According to a Government statement, the launch ceremony for PAREP-CV is scheduled for this Monday, the 21st, in the auditorium of the University of Cape Verde, presided over by the Minister of Education, Amadeu Cruz.<\/p>\n

The Support Programme for Priority Educational Reform in Cape Verde – Pre-School and 1st Cycle of Compulsory Basic Education is part of the educational reforms that aim to improve the quality of and access to early childhood education in Cape Verde.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis program is an extension of the commitment of the Government of Cape Verde to inclusive and quality education, in line with the sustainable development goals and the guidelines of the Strategic Education Plan,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n

PAREP is a strategic initiative aimed at improving the quality and access to education in preschool and 1st cycle of compulsory basic education (1st to 4th grades) in Cape Verde.<\/p>\n

This programme is funded and technically supported by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), through UNICEF in Cape Verde, which has facilitated the implementation of the educational programmes, ensuring that the interventions respond to national and international educational development objectives. The dual role of UNICEF, as coordinating agency and grant agent, as well as the Local Group of Education Partners, will facilitate the effective implementation and monitoring of PAREP-CV, in continuity with the implementation of previous educational programmes aligned with the Strategic Plan for Education, RISE and QIRD.<\/p>\n
