Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>Cape Verde becomes president of the Association of Portuguese-speaking Olympic Committees (ACOLOP). The country was elected in the organization’s elective General Assembly, which took place on the 10th, in S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Goa, Macau, Mozambique, S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe, Portugal, Sri Lanka and Timor-Leste are the 11 countries represented in this organization.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, Filomena Fortes, president of the Cape Verdean Olympic Committee, Filomena Fortes, was very pleased with the election of Cape Verde, referring that she demonstrates the \u201cconfidence\u201d in the work that the country has done in the Olympic Movement and within the Association.<\/p>\n

Filomena Fortes points out that “the main” challenges of the Association, which she will now preside, are, first, to “work the institution’s strategic plan and resume the product that existed before, that is, the lusophony games”.<\/p>\n
