Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic proposed this Sunday the creation of a Local and Regional Development Fund, which would function as an autonomous agency to finance the development of municipalities.<\/p>\n

Jos\u00e9 Maria Neves launched this challenge when he gave his speech at the ceremony commemorating the 28th anniversary of the municipality of S\u00e3o Domingos, a date that marks the inauguration of the then nstalling Committee of the municipality.<\/p>\n

\u201cI take this opportunity to propose the creation of a Local and Regional Development Fund, which would have the purpose of granting greater financial autonomy to municipalities in relation to the Government. Such a Fund, to be endowed with resources from the Environment Fund, Tourism Fund, Road Maintenance Fund, concessional loans and others, would function as an autonomous agency for financing the development of municipalities\u201d, he suggested.<\/p>\n
