Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>Cabo Verdean theatre company Fladu Fla takes the stage at the Teatro de Sintra, Portugal, next Saturday, the 19th, with the play \u201cChiquinho\u201d, in the framework of the International Festival of Performing Arts \u2013 Periferias 2022 .<\/p>\n

The play \u201cChiquinho\u201d, a co-production of the Fladu Fla theater company with the company from Sintra, is based on the Baltasar Lopes literary work, with the same name, and portrays his childhood and youth in S\u00e3o Vicente and his return to S\u00e3o Nicolau, until the moment of his departure to America, transmitting his attachment to the land and the connection to the divine.<\/p>\n

The three actors and an actress from the Fladu Fla group will perform, for an hour, with an approach to the chapters of the work, several episodes of this story that portrays the conjunctures of drought and all the dynamics of the people of the islands, focusing on S\u00e3o Nicolau, in a persistent struggle against hunger, in the face of eternal hope in the rain and placed its author on the list of classics of Cabo Verdean literature.<\/p>\n

According to the organization, the Festival of Performing Arts Periferias, initiative of the Center for Cultural Diffusion, Ch\u00e3o de Oliva, returns this year to bring to Sintra various shows and cultural activities and, \u201conce again, bring creators, creations and spectators together\u201d.<\/p>\n
