{"id":27779,"date":"2025-01-14T14:35:55","date_gmt":"2025-01-14T14:35:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/cape-verde\/all-news\/fogo-sao-filipe-chamber-with-special-programming-for-republic-week"},"modified":"2025-01-21T14:35:38","modified_gmt":"2025-01-21T14:35:38","slug":"fogo-sao-filipe-chamber-with-special-programming-for-republic-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/cape-verde\/all-news\/fogo-sao-filipe-chamber-with-special-programming-for-republic-week","title":{"rendered":"Fogo: S\u00e3o Filipe Chamber with Special Programming for Republic Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Municipality of Sa\u0303o Filipe is celebrating Republic Week with a series of cultural, sports and educational activities between the 13th and 20th of January.<\/p>\n<p>The celebration of Republic Week aims to promote reflection on the history and values \u200b\u200bof the Republic of Cape Verde, while also engaging the local community in various initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>An open conversation on \u201cThe importance of Republic Week\u201d is scheduled for today at the Municipal Library.<\/p>\n<p>The program began on Monday the 13th with a handball tournament, which will continue until the 17th at the multipurpose hall in the Beltches neighborhood, and a tournament and under-12 football tournament at the Ponta Verde (north) and Ma\u0301rio Dju\u0301dju (city) fields to offer children and young people the opportunity to compete and have fun in a healthy environment.<\/p>\n<p>The book \u201cInstaurac\u0327a\u0303o do Salazarismo em Cabo Verde \u2013 Repressa\u0303o como meio de silenciar os oponentes\u201d (Instauration of Salazarism in Cabo Verde \u2013 Repression as a means of silencing opponents), written by Professor Manuel Anto\u0301nio de Pina Souto Amado, who teaches Cape Verdean History\/Culture at Escola Secunda\u0301ria Dr. Teixeira de Sousa, is scheduled to be launched as part of the week\u2019s celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>The book was scheduled to be launched at the end of October last year, but due to various constraints it will only be launched now in the city of Sa\u0303o Filipe, after the author gave his presentation in the city of Cova Figueira, municipality of Santa Catarina do Fogo, in November 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The launch will be followed by a reflection and dialogue on the historical period and its repercussions.<\/p>\n<p>In partnership with schools, churches and the Projecto Vito\u0301 association, a walk will be held on January 20th along the Cruz dos Passos route to the port of Vale dos Cavaleiros, followed by a clean-up campaign.<\/p>\n<p>This objective is to promote awareness about environmental preservation and community engagement in building a cleaner and healthier environment.<\/p>\n<p>Musical entertainment, capoeira and karate performances, and jumping in the children&#8217;s paradise, located on the Alameda de Cruz dos Passos, providing a moment of leisure and entertainment for the little ones.<\/p>\n<p>The program also includes the delivery of a section of road in the community of Cutelo Capado, located in the upper part of the southern part of the municipality of Sa\u0303o Filipe.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Cape verde<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Cape verde.
