Ulisses Correia e Silva spoke at the National Assembly at the opening of the debate \u201cProtection and Improvement of Democracy and Good Governance\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Head of Government noted that we are living in the era of Social Networks, Artificial Intelligence and the expansion of Post-Truth and warned of the negative impact that these tools have on society, namely in the manipulation of public perceptions and the propagation of ideologies. extremists, populists and deniers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese tools are used intentionally to create thousands of followers and spread ideologies, often without any respect for facts or ethical principles,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The fight against disinformation, fake news and post-truth ideology increases the relevance and need for public media outlets that are guided by programming and information oriented by the constitutional principles of freedom and independence of media outlets and journalists. , but also by the principles of pluralism, rigor and impartiality, as I said.<\/p>\n
