Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The urban and environmental redevelopment works in the Shell area in the city of Porto Ingle\u0302s and the completion of the fish market still do not have a date to be resumed, Inforpress reported this Friday to the mayor Rely Brito.<\/p>\n

Scheduled to be completed in July 2024, the fish market has not yet been handed over to the island’s fishmongers, and the completion works are at a standstill.<\/p>\n

The work is budgeted at 15 thousand contos and has the support of the Government, through the Environment Fund and the Fisheries Fund, which financed the infrastructure with around 6 thousand contos, with the remainder covered by the city’s coffers.<\/p>\n

This list of stoppages also includes the urban and environmental redevelopment works in the Shell area in the city of Porto Ingle\u0302s, budgeted at 16 thousand contos, with financing from the Tourism Fund.<\/p>\n

The project, which was scheduled to be completed in 90 days, in December 2024, has been halted and is far from being completed.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, the mayor of Maio, Rely Brito, justified the halt in the works with \u201cdelays on the part of the Government\u201d, which is financing part of the projects, but he added that, as far as the municipal council is concerned, it is in negotiations with the contractors to speed up the resumption of the works.<\/p>\n
