Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Jos\u00e9 Maria Neves, promised on Wednesday, to exercise his influence to help resolve the conflict between the Mayor of S\u00e3o Vicente and Councilors from the opposition parties.<\/p>\n

This information was announced to the Press by the President of the Municipal Assembly of S\u00e3o Vicente (AMSV), Dora Pires, who was accompanied by the leaders and representatives in AMSV, after meeting with the President of the Republic, at the People\u2019s Palace, in Mindelo.<\/p>\n

According to Dora Pires, during the meeting, one of the leaders of the political groups at AMSV asked the President of the Republic to establish a dialogue between the parties to help resolve the conflict between Mayor Augusto Neves from the Movement for Democracy (MpD), and the Councillors representing the African Independence Party of Cabo Verde (PAICV) and the Independent and Democratic Cabo Verdean Union (UCID) in the City Hall of S\u00e3o Vicente.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe President of the Republic is available to make his influence. He will do what he has to do, the Assembly will do its part and the City Hall should do its part, for all to work for a consensus and see the best results\u201d, said Dora Pires, who said she believes that Jos\u00e9 Maria Neves \u201cwill do everything possible\u201d, because in more than 100 days in office \u201che has shown himself to be impartial and has known how to dialogue with everyone\u201d.<\/p>\n
