Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>Porto Novo confirmed its presence at the renewable energy fair in Cabo Verde, which runs from March 24 to 26, in the City of Praia, an opportunity to \u201cpromote the work done\u201d in this area, in this municipality.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will be promoting all the work done on renewable energy in this municipality\u201d, said the City Hall, which, through a note, stressed that Porto Novo has taken \u201csignificant steps\u201d in this sector, in order to improve the quality of life of families in the various areas.<\/p>\n

Several communities in this municipality were electrified using solar energy, especially the fishing village of Monte Trigo, the first town in Cabo Verde electrified, in 2012, to 100 percent (%) with renewable energy.<\/p>\n

In addition to Monte Trigo, seven of the eight communities that make up the Planalto Norte are also supplied through renewable energies, in a municipality where virtually all water production systems, around two dozen, are equipped with photovoltaic systems.<\/p>\n
