Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The president of the Municipal Political Commission of the Movement for Democracy (MpD), in Porto Novo, Dami\u00e3o Medina, insisted on Thursday, on the need for this party to postpone the electoral process in the county because it was \u201cvitiated by unlawfulness\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt does not in any way correspond to the truth that the internal electoral process here in Porto Novo takes place in normality. The process is vitiated by unlawfulness, violation of statutory rules and excessive interference of the City Hall team\u201d, explained Dami\u00e3o Medina, in a statement sent to Inforpress.<\/p>\n

Hence, the local MpD\u2019s leader and candidate for his own succession insist on the need for the elections of April 3 be postponed and, after an assembly of party militants, \u201cwith the presence of the president of the party, or whoever he designates, announce a new date for holding this election, on the basis that the candidacies and militants are on the same equal terms\u201d.<\/p>\n

For Dami\u00e3o Medina, the militants of the MpD and the candidacies for this election \u201cknow well\u201d that the electoral process in Porto Novo is \u201cvitiated by unlawfulness, violation of the statutory rules and excessive interference of the City Hall team\u201d.<\/p>\n
