Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>A total of 83 schools, associations and NGOs, throughout the national territory, were selected within the scope of the application for funding from the Bolsa de Acesso \u00e0 Cultura program, benefiting 3041 students.<\/p>\n

The program, carried out by the Government of Cape Verde, was designed with the aim of providing access, including and massifying the teaching of the arts.<\/p>\n

According to a statement from the Ministry of Culture and Creative Industries, for the 2022 economic year, the students covered will benefit, 1601 are female and 1440 are male.<\/p>\n

The global amount made available for the BA-Cultura 2022 program is twenty-one million, seven hundred and fifty-one thousand, five hundred and three Cape Verdean escudos (21,751,503.00CVE). Altogether, 18 municipalities are covered by this program.<\/p>\n

The final list thus includes 3 from Santo Ant\u00e3o (Porto Novo), 5 from S\u00e3o Vicente, 2 from S\u00e3o Nicolau (1 from Ribeira Brava and 1 from Tarrafal), 4 from Sal, 3 from Boa Vista, 3 from Maio, 52 from the island of Santiago (31 from Praia, 5 from S\u00e3o Domingos, 1 from S\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o dos \u00d3rg\u00e3os, 3 from Santa Catarina, 2 from Tarrafal, 4 from S\u00e3o Miguel, and 6 from Santa Cruz), 10 from Fogo (2 from S\u00e3o Filipe , 3 from Santa Catarina and 5 from Mosteiros) and 1 from Ilha Brava.<\/p>\n

The municipalities of Paul and Ribeira Grande (Santo Ant\u00e3o) and also Ribeira Grande de Santiago and S\u00e3o Salvador do Mundo (Santiago) were excluded from this selection, as they did not submit any candidacy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe program\u2019s mission is to ensure that the population with fewer resources is not excluded from the \u201cfruition of art\u201d and also to give sustainability to the small initiatives of artistic education schools, financing the tuition fees of students who come from families with low economic power, to the frequency of classes, ateliers and workshops in painting, dance, music, theater\u201d, explains the MCIC.<\/p>\n

BA-Cultura, he adds, also has the mission of training citizens with artistic sensitivity and creating markets for art training schools. It is recalled that the application for another funding phase for the BA-Culture program took place between December and January, having been closed on 31 January.<\/p>\n
