Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The new board of directors of the Sal Regional Football Association (ARFS) took office on Friday evening, October 31st, at the City Hall, marking the beginning of a term “focused on modernization and rigor.”<\/p>\n

The team, led by Ivan Lopes, with Garcia Santos as president of the General Assembly, was elected last week with votes from ten of the 13 voting clubs and officially assumes leadership one day before the start of the football season on the island.<\/p>\n

In his speech, Ivan Lopes, 38, a graduate in Sports Management, expressed “deep gratitude” for the trust placed in him, emphasizing that the position, more than a function, represents the recognition of the sports community and the collective desire to see the island’s football “stronger, more organized and more valued.”<\/p>\n

The new president stated that he is taking on this “demanding challenge” with “a profound sense of responsibility,” stressing that the new administration faces the need to build a “modern, transparent and results-oriented management.”<\/p>\n

Lopes promised to begin this phase with “serenity, rigor, and determination” to serve Salense football “with dedication and respect,” establishing cooperation as “the watchword” of the new management team.<\/p>\n

“The challenge is demanding; we have a lot of work ahead of us, many goals, and above all, the need to build a modern, transparent, and results-oriented management,” summarized the same source.<\/p>\n

Success, according to the association leader, is not built in isolation, depending on the coordination of all those involved, including clubs, referees, coaches, athletes, fans, and institutions.<\/p>\n

The new board is committed to working to make the association “more organized and efficient, closer to the clubs and aligned with their realities.”<\/p>\n

Among the specific goals announced, ARFS intends to implement “more balanced and well-structured” competitions that promote talent and fair play, and also ensure that football continues to be a space for human growth and opportunities for young people.<\/p>\n

Ivan Lopes also guaranteed that football on Sal Island can count on a board of directors that is \u201cpresent, serious, and committed to the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

The inauguration took place on the eve of the start of the football season, which begins today with the Sanc\u0327a Gomes Super Cup match between Grupos Desportivos da Palmeira and Preto\u0301ria.<\/p>\n
