Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Movement for Democracy (MpD, ruling party) said Friday, the 25th, in S\u00e3o Vicente, the party \u201chas to be one of the great promoters of trust in the country\u201d and position itself in the leadership of the political debates and ideas.<\/p>\n

Ulisses Correia e Silva, who was speaking at the closing session of the Conference on \u201cPolitical parties in the age of globalisation and digital\u201d, led by the MpD, stated that Cabo Verde, with the MpD, is the synthesis of what the world, eventually, in the future will be, \u201cwithout distinctions and minorizations\u201d by ideological, racial and sexual nature.<\/p>\n

After referring to the genesis of the party, Correia Silva specified that today the MpD is \u201ca mature party, which changed Cabo Verde\u201d with the milestones which established democracy and freedom, referring to January 13, 1991 and the Constitution of the Republic of 1992.<\/p>\n

Neverthemore, he pointed out that democracy and freedom are not definitive achievements today because of \u201cthreats and risks\u201d, and democracy is a human construction.<\/p>\n
