Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Sonangol building in Espargos, Sal Island, has been transformed into the Ministry of Tourism and Transport, whose inauguration takes place this afternoon, in a ceremony presided over by the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva.<\/p>\n

According to a Note of the Government, to which Inforpress had access, the movement of the Ministry of Tourism and Transport to Sal Island translates the deconcentration and decentralization policy of the State services, in order to seek to take \u201cgreater advantage\u201d on the vocation of each island and promote the \u201charmonious development\u201d of the country.<\/p>\n

On this basis, with the implementation of the Ministry of Tourism and Transport in Sal, the island begins to put together the main services related to air transport and tourism, thus reinforcing, according to the same source, the \u201cstrategy and importance\u201d with which the Government has been working on the concept of the Air Hub for the island.<\/p>\n

\u201cTourism continues to be established by the Government as one of the fundamental Cabo Verdean economy pillars, and air transport is seen as a key element in the country\u2019s proximity to the world, ensuring its territorial continuity, its proximity to the Diaspora, as well as its instrumentality for the tourism sector and the development of the country\u2019s economy\u201d, reads in the Note.<\/p>\n
