Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Jos\u00e9 Maria Neves, congratulated Ant\u00f3nio Jos\u00e9 Seguro on Sunday, November 8th, on his election as President of the Portuguese Republic, highlighting the victory of democracy and republicanism in Portugal.<\/p>\n

In a message published on his official Facebook page, Jos\u00e9 Maria Neves emphasized the strong participation of the Portuguese people in the electoral process, despite the challenging political context.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite all the storms, the Portuguese people went to the polls and voted overwhelmingly for republicanism and democracy,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

The Cape Verdean Head of State also considered that Ant\u00f3nio Jos\u00e9 Seguro’s victory represents a triumph of values \u200b\u200bsuch as decency, serenity, and wisdom in politics.<\/p>\n

According to Jos\u00e9 Maria Neves, the election result demonstrates that it is worthwhile to swim in the deep waters of decency, serenity, and wisdom, always with eyes turned towards the freedom and dignity of the human person.<\/p>\n

Ant\u00f3nio Jos\u00e9 Seguro, 63, won the Portuguese presidential elections this Sunday, March 8th. He will be inaugurated on March 9th.<\/p>\n

Seguro’s presidential campaign attracted broad support, with prominent conservatives, including former president An\u00edbal Cavaco Silva, ministers from the current center-right government, and most of the first-round candidates declaring their support to prevent a victory for Ventura.<\/p>\n
