Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Tourism Fund will provide 8 million escudos for the holding of the VIII edition of the Atlantic Music Expo (AME), scheduled for the month of June, in Praia and Mindelo, as a result of a partnership with the organizer of this cultural event.<\/p>\n

This funding is the result of a contract signed this Friday, April 1, between the Ministry of Tourism and Transport (MTT) and the Cabo Verde Cultural Association, the entity responsible for organizing the AME\u201d.<\/p>\n

This partnership represents, according to the vice-president of the Cabo Verde Cultural Association, Augusto Veiga, a \u201crebirth of hope for the music sector, for national companies that organize this event and for those that provide services\u201d.<\/p>\n

Augusto Veiga also explained in an interview with Inforpress that the amount made available represents about 30 percent (%) of the AME budget, so he called for the \u201ccontinuous engagement\u201d of the Government, municipal councils and public and private companies for \u201csuccess\u201d. \u201d of this large event.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is not for profit, but it means a major financial injection into the national economy, especially in the cities where they take place, as well as strengthening Cape Verde as a tourist and cultural destination\u201d, stressed Augusto Veiga, promising \u201cwork, rigor and good management\u201d. \u201d of the amount included in the protocol, \u201cfor the good of the country, its music and its culture\u201d.<\/p>\n

Impact of AME on the country’s economy<\/b><\/p>\n

In turn, the Tourism Fund manager, Manuel Ribeiro, recalled that since 2018, the Government has financed AME activities and other cultural activities, \u201cunderstanding that culture has a role in the country\u2019s tourism development and in promoting the brand.\u201d Cape Green”.<\/p>\n

Remember that the Atlantic Music Expo 2022 was scheduled between March 30 and April 2 in Mindelo and April 4 to 7 in Praia and was postponed to June, between 9 and 11 in Mindelo, and from 13 to 16 in Praia, because of the measures to contain the pandemic that was in force at the time.<\/p>\n
