Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The former Portuguese ambassador in Cabo Verde Gra\u00e7a Guimar\u00e3es called attention on Tuesday, in the city of Praia, to the \u201cglobal challenge\u201d of women\u2019s migration in the 21st century.<\/p>\n

In a statement to the press, on the sidelines of the conference opening on \u201cThe Challenges of Women in the 21st Century: A Fight of Every Day\u201d, held on Tuesday in the Presidency of the Republic, the former Ambassador of Portugal in Cabo Verde and career diplomat called attention to the challenges of migration, highlighting the woman as being the most \u201caffected\u201d with this issue.<\/p>\n

\u201cMigration is a global challenge, women are the most affected by this issue, not only now, with the war that has unfortunately erupted in Europe,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

According to the diplomat, referring to the current situation faced by the Ukrainians, they \u201csuffer\u201d and have an increased responsibility to leave the country where they live with their children, to destinations they not know and face challenges such as language, adding that she has \u201cthe greatest respect for the suffering and dignity of these women\u201d.<\/p>\n
