\u201cThis year, we can pick up S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o on foot if people continue to comply with the recommendations of the health authorities and prevent covid-19\u201d, appealed Father Jos\u00e9 Pires, during Easter celebrations, asking the faithful to continue to make Porto Novo remain without active cases. Porto Novo has no positive case of covid-19 at this time, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n

If this continues, the pilgrimage of the image of S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o between Ribeira das Patas and the city of Porto Novo, which usually takes place in June, will be carried out in the traditional format, that is, on foot, with the image of the saint being carried on the shoulders of the faithful, guaranteed Jos\u00e9 Pires.<\/p>\n
