Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The construction of the Santo Ant\u00e3o international airport, the expansion of the port of Porto Novo and the installation of higher education in this region are \u201cessential bets\u201d to \u201ctake off the island towards development\u201d.<\/p>\n

Who says so is the Member of Parliament elected by Santo Ant\u00e3o constituency, Dami\u00e3o Medina, who said he found this week through \u201ca tour\u201d around the three municipalities that Santo Ant\u00e3o is a \u201crich, beautiful and promising island\u201d, pointed to the \u201cinternational airport, better port and higher education as being \u201cessential bets\u201d to leverage regional development.<\/p>\n

The airport, the expansion of the port and higher education are bets to also keep the Santo Ant\u00e3o people, especially young people, on their own island\u201d, argues the Member of Parliament, according to who Santo Ant\u00e3o has \u201cvarious potentials and should give more\u201d to Cabo Verde.<\/p>\n

For this Member of Parliament of the Movement for Democracy (MpD), ruling party, this island \u201chas everything to work\u201d.<\/p>\n
