Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The City Hall of Ribeira Brava began the 4th edition of the event \u201cEm Abril, livros mil\u201d (In April, thousands of books), in the context of the Culture portfolio activities, an initiative aimed at promoting reading, according to Councilwoman Maria Silva.<\/p>\n

It is an event that, according to the same source, in addition to promoting reading and the book, is \u201cespecially\u201d dedicated to the personality of Baltazar Lopes da Silva, \u201cone of the maximum exponents\u201d of Cabo Verde literature.<\/p>\n

The Councilwoman of Culture in the City Hall of Ribeira Brava said that several activities will also be carried out, such as book fair, children\u2019s reading, launch and presentation of books and workshops, among others.<\/p>\n

The goal, she pointed out, is to promote the book, namely with the book fair which will bring several titles to provide the purchase, an opportunity that generally is not available in the municipality.<\/p>\n
