Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Maracan\u00e3 Cultural and Sports Association, from Ponta d\u2019\u00c1gua, in Praia highlighted gains such as community engagement after participation in the 14th edition of the Children\u2019s Football Tournament of Clube Uni\u00e3o Micaelense, in the Azores.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Inforpress, the Maracan\u00e3 Cultural and Sports Association activities general coordinator, Carlos Tavares, stressed that \u201ccommunity engagement\u201d was \u201cone of the greatest results\u201d obtained after participating in the International children\u2019s Football Tournament of Clube Uni\u00e3o Micaelense in the Azores (Portugal).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are receiving very positive feedback. Wherever we go we have the recognition of our efforts, to change the concept of community with a high level of violence, to highlight as a sporting powerhouse\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

According to the general coordinator, the Association has received, in addition to recognition, donations, a high number of registrations by children and young people who want to change their lives through sport.<\/p>\n
