Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Praia Central Hospital, Agostinho Neto, will have an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as of this Monday, 16, for greater monitoring and surveillance of patients in critical condition. The opening act, to be chaired by Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva, is scheduled for 10 am.<\/p>\n

According to a press release, the new Intensive Care Unit at Hospital Agostinho Neto (HAN) is fully equipped with the necessary materials, equipment and technologies, with a capacity for 10 beds, 6 for intensive care and 4 for intermediate care, adapted to the national reality. .<\/p>\n

According to the same source, it is hoped that this ICU will provide critical patients with better technical, technological and human conditions of care and quality of care, reduce deaths, implement new medical services and surgeries in the country.<\/p>\n

This, in addition to contributing to the reduction of the evacuation of patients abroad and strengthening health security, projecting the image of Cape Verde in the international arena and opening the way for health tourism.<\/p>\n

Biggest bet on health<\/p>\n

This is a commitment by the Government to improve care in the Health sector within the framework of the 2017-21 Health Development Plan for Central Hospitals.<\/p>\n

Valued at over 100 million escudos, the UCI no HAN began to be implemented in April 2021, with the Government’s partners, the Global Fund, CCS-SIDA, WHO, the Portuguese Embassy in Cape Verde and Chinese Cooperation.<\/p>\n

Its installation in the largest hospital in the country, has the mission \u201cto provide the population with well-being, providing specialized health care with efficiency and quality, as well as technical support to other hospitals and health centers in the country, acting as a center for reference for the provision of differentiated care in the country\u201d.<\/p>\n

The inauguration ceremony of the Intensive Care Unit at Hospital Agostinho Neto is scheduled for 10 am this Monday, 16th, chaired by Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva.<\/p>\n
