Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The works of Toy Pedro pedestrian street, on the Sal Island, which will completely change the image and aesthetics of the historical centre of the city of Espargos, began this Monday, 23.<\/p>\n

The signing of the contract for the award of the works for the transformation of the Toy Pedro street into a pedestrian street, took place in June 2020, and everything points that the works did not go ahead at the time, due to the pandemic situation.<\/p>\n

The project will be in charge of the Armando Cunha company that will adorn the area with artistic sidewalk, improve public lighting, replace the overhead cables with underground cables, among other urban innovations.<\/p>\n

Once the modernization works are completed, providing the physical environment with more valences and factors of attractiveness and competitiveness, according to the project, within the framework of the municipal program \u201cHealthy Cities\u201d, it is expected that the Toy Pedro street will work as a pedestrian from Monday to Friday, from 6:00PM, on weekends and holidays.<\/p>\n
