Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The PAICV\u2019s President (opposition party), Rui Semedo, defended this Sunday in Santo Ant\u00e3o the need to make \u201ca national debate\u201d on privatization in Cabo Verde \u201cthinking about the development of the country\u201d.<\/p>\n

Rui Semedo, who was speaking at the ending of the PAICV regional assembly in Santo Ant\u00e3o, said Cabo Verde needs to have this debate \u201cto define which sector the State should play a key role in\u201d and it would not be included in the privatization list.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would be a discussion thinking about the country and its development,\u201d the President of PAICV said, saying that \u201cin all countries, the State must define what is strategic and what cannot be privatized.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rui Semedo said that the Government of the MpD has in its list of privatization \u201cmore than 20 companies\u201d, that is, \u201call companies in Cabo Verde\u201d, because it understands that \u201cthe State must get out absolutely everything\u201d, contrary to what the PAICV thinks.<\/p>\n
