Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The isolated village of Monte Trigo, in the countryside of the municipality of Porto Novo, in Santo Ant\u00e3o, is feeling abandoned by the City Hall and the Government, warned this Sunday the spokesman for residents, Augusto Miranda.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe in Monte Trigo are feeling abandoned by the City Hall team and the Government of Cabo Verde. Before we had 24-hour powered light, but today that\u2019s not a reality. We are also suffering with the problem of street lighting, which is deplorable\u201d, complained this community representative.<\/p>\n

Augusto Miranda explains that of the 18 lighting stations, only eight are operating at the moment. This resident also warned of the need to rebuild the wall for the protection of houses in Monte Trigo, which was destroyed two years ago.<\/p>\n

The water consumed by the local population is considered poor quality, a problem the City Hall is aware, he said.<\/p>\n

In relation to electricity, the production unit capacity, installed in 2012, \u201cfalls short\u201d of the needs of the 75 resident families.<\/p>\n
