Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The director of the SOS Mindelo Social Center, Gra\u00e7a Gomes, wants more people to join the godparents program allowing the institution to continue the mission of providing children with a quiet and welcoming environment.<\/p>\n

The person responsible made the appeal in an interview with Inforpress about the Gala Padrinhos the Center held this Friday, at the Cultural Center of Mindelo. According to the same source, the institution, linked to the SOS Children\u2019s Villages of Cabo Verde, currently has 400 godparents and godmothers, but unfortunately only about 200 are active.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to have more godparents, godmothers, friends and partners to help us, because that is the only way we can carry out our mission of giving children a family, welcoming, safe and protective environment,\u201d said Gra\u00e7a Gomes, reiterating the importance of all for the future of the new generation.<\/p>\n

As a way to thank those who participate and continue in the \u201cproject\u201d, the Social Center SOS performs tonight, at the Cultural Center of Mindelo, the seventh edition of Gala Padrinho, which also fits the program for the parental responsibility campaign.<\/p>\n
