Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The deputies of the African Party for the Independence of Cape Verde (PAICV), elected by Santo Ant\u00e3o, demand an inspection of the island’s municipal councils. The objective is to know \u201cthe purpose given to the resources that the Government says it has transferred\u201d to the municipalities.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, at the end of a week-long visit to the constituency, the elected officials say they do not know \u201cwhat is the purpose given to the resources that the Government says it has transferred to the municipal councils\u201d of Santo Ant\u00e3o for the creation of jobs, within the scope of the emergency program.<\/p>\n

They therefore demanded an \u201cinspection\u201d of the island’s municipal councils, similar to what has been done in Praia.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is necessary to carry out an inspection, similar to the Municipality of Praia, which is already in the fourth inspection\u201d, urged the PAICV deputy.<\/p>\n

Water supply<\/p>\n

Rosa Rocha said that Santo Ant\u00e3o faces \u201ca burning problem\u201d in terms of unemployment and warned of the existence of \u201cproblems in all sectors of activity\u201d on the island, with emphasis on water supply.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn Porto Novo, the water has lost its quality because the company does not have the financial capacity to replace equipment that has already reached its time limit. The camera cannot provide water in all areas of the city. The government has to act,\u201d he urged.<\/p>\n

Still on the water supply, Rosa Rocha warned of the lack of water in the North and East Plateaus.<\/p>\n

In the East Plateau, he explained, the pumping project stopped working and in the North Plateau, the pumping and water adduction project, which, as he said, already had guaranteed funding in 2016, \u201ccontinues to slip\u201d.<\/p>\n
