Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Government of Cape Verde welcomed, this Tuesday, August 2, the departure of the first cereal ship from the port of Odessa, marking the resumption of cereal exports from Ukraine. The ship \u201cRazoni\u201d left with 26,000 tons of corn on board, bound for Lebanon.<\/p>\n

The first vessel started the resumption of cereal exports, in compliance with the agreements recently signed between Russia, the United Nations and Turkey, on the one hand, and between Ukraine, the United Nations and Turkey, on the other hand.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Government also welcomes the decisive role played by the United Nations and Turkey, in the conclusion of these agreements and in the functioning of the established mechanisms, thus creating conditions to alleviate global food insecurity, which mainly affects fragile countries such as Cape Verde, which face social and economic emergency,\u201d he said in a press release.<\/p>\n

Cape Verde, according to the same source, encourages the parties to continue to fulfill their commitments and to favor peaceful means for resolving the conflict.<\/p>\n

The ship \u201cRazoni\u201d, from Sierra Leone, left Ukraine this Monday, August 1st, bound for Lebanon. On board, 26 thousand tons of corn.<\/p>\n

According to information shared by the issuing country, about 17 ships, with more than 600,000 tons of cargo, will still be in Ukrainian ports.<\/p>\n
