Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>Cape Verdean museums received almost 11,000 visitors in the first six months of the year, a number far above the number recorded in the whole of 2021.<\/p>\n

According to data released this Tuesday, August 2 by the Cultural Heritage Institute (IPC), of that total number of visitors from January to June, 56% were tourists and the former Tarrafal de Santiago Concentration Camp (currently the Museum of Resistance), was the most visited, with 35% of the total.<\/p>\n

In the whole of 2021, Cape Verdean museums had received 8,466 visitors, recalls the IPC.<\/p>\n

Increase reflects post-pandemic recovery<\/p>\n

\u201cThis increase reflects the resumption of activities in the post-pandemic period and the consequent investments made to enhance the national museum framework. These have been accompanied by dissemination programs that range from direct contact with the educational and tourist sector, as well as the strengthening of digital communication mechanisms\u201d, justifies the IPC.<\/p>\n

All museums managed by the IPC, an organization supervised by the Ministry of Culture and Creative Industries, also integrate the Internet portal www.museus.cv<\/a> , translated into three languages \u200b\u200band have individual pages on social networks for sharing content.<\/p>\n
