Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>Olavo Correia, deputy prime minister and finance minister, said today, in Praia, that the State will comply with its obligations \u201cin a calm manner\u201d in relation to the alleged debt to CV Interilhas, the maritime transport concessionaire. The same said, however, that the debt is \u201cmuch less\u201d than the 9.5 million euros that the company had publicly advanced.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe amount is not confirmed. It is much less than this amount (9.5 million euros), but the question that arises here is not a question to be discussed in the media. There are accounts that have been presented, the accounts must be audited and inspected\u201d, he said, quoted by Inforpress.<\/p>\n

According to this official, the Government will pay the amount due, after the audits and inspections provided for by law.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a legal framework, there is a contract in which the accounts must be validated and certified by international and reputable entities and after this verification and validation, the State will comply with its obligations in a calm way and in accordance with the law\u201d, he clarified.<\/p>\n

It is recalled that the ETE group, a shareholder of CV Interilhas, last week accused the State of defaulting on its financial obligations, since the beginning of the concession in 2019, to the point that currently the high debt accumulated to the company amounts to 9.5 million of euros.<\/p>\n
