However, the organization says that, so far, it still does not have the support to reward the athletes of the competition.<\/p>\n

According to An\u00edbal Delgado, one of the organizers of Remex, this is the first time that the competition will have a female athlete, which could \u201copen the doors\u201d to have more participation of women in the next competitions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year, it is to be commended because we have the first female athlete in the competition. This means that Remex is for all ages and all genders. It is a way of encouraging, of opening doors to other athletes\u201d, she predicted.<\/p>\n

However, the organization is still waiting for feedback on the letters submitted to the public institutions responsible for the area, in S\u00e3o Vicente, in order to \u201creward at least one athlete\u201d.<\/p>\n

For this 6th edition of Remex, eight athletes are registered who will make the rowing crossing in the open sea, between Praia da Laginha in S\u00e3o Vicente and Armaz\u00e9m beach in Porto Novo, in Santo Ant\u00e3o, in a course of nine nautical miles.<\/p>\n
