Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>Cape Verde will host, early next year, the women’s football tournament of the Union of West African Federations (UFOA). The competition involves countries from the west of the continent, to be organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).<\/p>\n

The vice president of the Cape Verdean Football Federation (FCF) for women’s football, Tatiana Carvalho, hopes with this competition to give a new impetus to women’s football, as she believes it will contribute to Cape Verdean society having the true understanding of the reality of football in Africa.<\/p>\n

Carvalho recommended, however, the improvement of the organization of women’s football, especially in domestic regional competitions, so that the athletes selected to integrate the national team are at the same level as the players who develop abroad.<\/p>\n

Cape Verde, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal and Sierra Leone are the countries of UFOA, Oeste, whose proof will be exclusively organized by CAF.<\/p>\n

The Cape Verde women’s team, it is recalled, has already participated in a UFOA tournament in Sierra Leone, in 2020, having ranked fourth in the universe of eight teams.<\/p>\n
