\u201cI congratulate Lula da Silva on his victory in the presidential elections,\u201d wrote Jos\u00e9 Maria Neves, on Facebook, moments after the results of the second round of the presidential elections in Brazil, disputed by Jair Bolsonaro (outgoing president) and Lula da Silva, were released.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope we can work together to further strengthen relations of friendship and cooperation between Brazil and Cape Verde\u201d, underlined the Cape Verdean head of state.<\/p>\n

Likewise, the prime minister, Jos\u00e9 Ulisses Correia e Silva congratulated Lula da Silva on his victory in the presidential elections, hoping to see relations between the two countries strengthened.<\/p>\n

\u201cRelations between our countries will be strengthened, as well as at the level of the CPLP, where Brazil plays a very important role\u201d, wrote the chief executive on his official Facebook page.<\/p>\n

Lula da Silva was elected this Sunday, in the second round of presidential elections in Brazil, with an advantage of more than two million votes.<\/p>\n

Jair Bolsonaro, the outgoing president, won 49.1% of the votes, while Lula da Silva collected 50.9%, thus returning to the presidential chair after 11 years.<\/p>\n
