Africa-Press – Congo Kinshasa. ANKARA (AA) – Moroccans took to the streets as their country qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup quarterfinals after beating Spain 3-0 on penalties Tuesday night.

Thousands of people poured into the streets of the capital Rabat and other cities across the country including Casablanca, Marrakesh, Fes and Agadir and celebrated the national team’s victory over Spain.

Moroccan fans who came to the Qatari capital Doha to support their national team organized victory celebrations, chanting for their squad and singing the national anthem.

Neither team was able to break the deadlock for the first 45 minutes at Education City Stadium.

Despite efforts by both sides in the second half, neither national team was able to produce a goal and the match went to extra time.

The Round of 16 match finished 0-0 after extra time, so a penalty shootout decided the winning team.
