Africa-Press<\/a> – Congo Kinshasa<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Le pr\u00e9sident de la Conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration africaine de football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, s’est exprim\u00e9 dans un communiqu\u00e9 publi\u00e9 dimanche 20 juin. Le dirigeant a confirm\u00e9 qu’un projet de cr\u00e9ation d’une Super Ligue africaine \u00e9tait \u00e0 l’\u00e9tude. Et il compte s’appuyer sur l’\u00e9chec du projet europ\u00e9en pour ne pas commettre d’erreur.<\/b><\/p>\n

Dimanche 20 juin 2021, Patrice Motsepe a f\u00eat\u00e9 ses 100 jours \u00e0 la t\u00eate de la CAF. Le Sud-Africain, qui a succ\u00e9d\u00e9 officiellement \u00e0 Ahmad Ahmad le 12 mars dernier, a d\u00e9voil\u00e9 ses intentions \u00e0 cette occasion, \u00e0 travers un communiqu\u00e9 titr\u00e9 \u00ab Rendre la CAF plus comp\u00e9titive et autosuffisante \u00bb.<\/p>\n

L’ancien homme d’affaires a \u00e9voqu\u00e9 plusieurs r\u00e9flexions men\u00e9es depuis son arriv\u00e9e \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sidence de la CAF. Patrice Motsepe a rencontr\u00e9 nombre de dirigeants et sponsors et a regrett\u00e9 que ceux-ci aient \u00ab une perception m\u00e9diocre voire n\u00e9gative de la CAF \u00bb. Ces impressions, confirm\u00e9es par un rapport r\u00e9dig\u00e9 par l’entreprise d’audit Price Waterhouse Coopers, incite l’institution \u00e0 d\u00e9sormais \u00ab mettre en oeuvre \u00bb certaines recommandations et \u00e0 \u00ab veiller \u00e0 ce que les transactions inappropri\u00e9es, les pratiques irr\u00e9guli\u00e8res et contraires \u00e0 l’\u00e9thique ne se reproduisent pas \u00bb.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Tirer les enseignements de l’\u00e9chec des grands clubs europ\u00e9ens \u00bb<\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s avoir d\u00e9taill\u00e9 tout un arsenal de mesures \u00e0 prendre ou de mesures envisageables, Patrice Motsepe a abord\u00e9 un autre sujet qui suscite bien des discussions sur le continent. S’il s’\u00e9tait montr\u00e9 tr\u00e8s discret \u00e0 ce propos au moment de son \u00e9lection, le pr\u00e9sident de la CAF est bel et bien ouvert \u00e0 une Super Ligue en Afrique.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Nous sommes en train d\u2019examiner l\u2019opportunit\u00e9 de la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019une Super Ligue africaine et des discussions \u00e0 cet \u00e9gard ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 eu lieu \u00bb, indique-t-il dans son communiqu\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Le m\u00eame projet, lanc\u00e9 brutalement en Europe par 12 des plus grands clubs du monde, avait provoqu\u00e9 une large lev\u00e9e de boucliers et conduit ledit projet \u00e0 son implosion en l’espace de quelques heures. Ce fiasco ne semble pas inqui\u00e9ter la CAF. Au contraire, il va m\u00eame lui servir d’exemple \u00e0 ne pas suivre. \u00ab Nous avons suivi la tentative de certains grands clubs europ\u00e9ens de mettre en place une telle comp\u00e9tition et t\u00e2cherons de tirer les enseignements de leur \u00e9chec \u00bb, assure Patrice Motsepe.<\/p>\n

Le Sud-Africain a l’intention de \u00ab continuer \u00e0 se rendre dans les associations membres afin de mieux comprendre leurs int\u00e9r\u00eats et leur exposer ceux de la CAF \u00bb.
