Africa-Press. <\/strong> <\/span>The Disciplinary Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced a series of sanctions against the Senegalese Football Federation, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, as well as several players and officials, following incidents that occurred during the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, which were deemed to violate CAF\u2019s disciplinary regulations and rules.<\/p>\n

The Senegal national team won the Africa Cup of Nations title for the second time in its history after defeating Morocco 1-0 following extra time.<\/p>\n

CAF\u2019s decisions are as follows:<\/p>\n

First: sanctions against the Senegalese Football Federation<\/b><\/p>\n

The Disciplinary Committee ruled as follows:<\/p>\n

– Suspension of Pape Bouna Thiaw, head coach of Senegal, for five official CAF matches due to unsporting conduct contrary to the principles of fair play and integrity, along with a fine of $100,000.<\/p>\n

– Suspension of player Iliman Ndiaye for two matches for unsporting behavior toward the referee.<\/p>\n

– Suspension of player Ismai\u0308la Sarr for two matches for the same reason.<\/p>\n

– A fine of $300,000 imposed on the Senegalese Football Federation due to inappropriate behavior by its supporters, which damaged the reputation of the game.<\/p>\n

– An additional fine of $300,000 imposed on the Senegalese Football Federation for unsporting conduct by players and the technical staff, in violation of principles of fair play, loyalty, and integrity.<\/p>\n

– A fine of $15,000 imposed on the Senegalese Football Federation after five of its players received yellow cards during the match.<\/p>\n

Second: sanctions against the Moroccan Football Federation<\/b><\/p>\n

The Committee also issued the following sanctions against the Moroccan side:<\/p>\n

– Suspension of player Achraf Hakimi for two matches, with one match suspended for a period of one year, due to unsporting behavior.<\/p>\n

– Suspension of player Ismai\u0308l Saibari for three official matches, along with a fine of $100,000.<\/p>\n

– A fine of $200,000 imposed on the Moroccan Football Federation due to inappropriate conduct by ball boys on the pitch.<\/p>\n

– A fine of $100,000 imposed on the Moroccan Football Federation for players and technical staff entering the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review area and obstructing the referee\u2019s work, in clear violation of Articles 82 and 83 of the disciplinary regulations.<\/p>\n

– A fine of $15,000 imposed for the use of laser devices by some supporters during the match.<\/p>\n

Third: decision regarding Morocco\u2019s protest<\/b><\/p>\n

With regard to the protest filed by the Moroccan Football Federation against the Senegalese Football Federation for alleged violations of Articles 82 and 84 of the Africa Cup of Nations regulations, the Disciplinary Committee decided to reject the protest, considering that it was not supported by evidence proving that legal violations occurred during the tournament final.<\/p>\n
