Africa-Press. <\/strong> <\/span>Sudan\u2019s Transitional Sovereignty Council chairman, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, announced that the army has lifted the siege imposed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on the city of Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan state in southern Sudan.<\/p>\n

In a brief statement carried by the official SUNA news agency, al-Burhan said that \u201cthe army has reopened the road to Kadugli and reached residents who had been besieged for months\u201d.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cWe congratulate the Sudanese people on the opening of the road to Kadugli, and our people in Kadugli on the arrival of the armed forces,\u201d pledging that the army \u201cwill reach any place in Sudan\u201d.<\/p>\n

Children among civilians killed in drone strike<\/b><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a Sudanese medical group said on Tuesday that several civilians, including children, were killed and others wounded in an RSF drone strike targeting a health centre in Kadugli.<\/p>\n

The Sudan Doctors Network said in a statement that \u201ceight people, including five children, were killed in an RSF strike on a health facility in Kadugli\u201d. It added that three women were also among the victims of the attack on the Shertay health centre in the Hajar al-Nour neighbourhood.<\/p>\n

The group reported extensive damage and said another drone strike hit the Kalba district in the same city without causing casualties. It condemned the targeting of health facilities and medical staff as \u201ca blatant violation of international humanitarian law and all agreements protecting civilians and medical institutions\u201d.<\/p>\n
