Africa-Press. <\/strong> <\/span>Burkina Faso and Ghana have agreed to strengthen their security cooperation in the Burkinabe capital, Ouagadougou. The Burkinabe Prime Minister, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Oue\u0301draogo, and a delegation from Ghana, led by its Foreign Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, discussed intelligence sharing between the two countries during the thirteenth session of the Joint High Commission for Cooperation, according to an official statement.<\/p>\n

The Ghanaian Foreign Minister also spoke about areas of collaboration related to disaster management, combating drug trafficking, and a mutual commitment to intensify coordination in the security sector, emphasizing the importance of intelligence sharing, training, and expanding coordination to address terrorist threats.<\/p>\n

In this context, the Ghanaian Foreign Minister announced a special conference to be held in Accra on March 14, with the participation of security experts and guests from the Sahel region to deepen dialogue and accelerate response coordination.<\/p>\n

Okudzeto Ablakwa clarified that the Ghanaian authorities wish to involve the Prime Minister as well as the Burkinabe President, Captain Ibrahim Traore\u0301, in a high-level meeting with President John Dramani Mahama to discuss a shared vision for combating terrorism.<\/p>\n

By reactivating the permanent joint committee and expanding areas of cooperation, Burkina Faso and Ghana aim to translate their commitments into concrete actions that benefit the citizens of both countries, who are united by history, geography, and a shared desire to build a future of peace, security, and mutual prosperity.<\/p>\n
