The Commission warned against &#8220;the entrenchment of divergent positions,&#8221; urging all political actors to renew their commitment immediately to a comprehensive and substantive political dialogue, through &#8220;honest negotiation, mutual consensus, and strict adherence to the constitutional order.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The African Union Commission reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to the full implementation of its mandate in Somalia, including through the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), commending the efforts of the United Nations, the African Union, and bilateral partners for their ongoing facilitation efforts.<\/p>\n<p>The statement added that the Commission also encourages continued and coordinated international diplomatic engagement in efforts to resolve political disputes in Somalia.<\/p>\n<p>The United Nations had previously expressed regret over the conclusion of political talks between the Somali parties without results. A statement from the United Nations mission in Somalia indicated that the country has entered a transitional phase, urging the Somali federal government to prioritize comprehensive consultations with all relevant political parties to establish a viable electoral process and unify the Somali people.<\/p>\n<p>The mission also called on Somalis to cooperate in addressing the deteriorating humanitarian situation and the security threat posed by terrorist group attacks.
