Africa-Press. <\/strong> <\/span>Chadian-Algerian relations have received a new boost towards enhancing bilateral cooperation, with discussions held between the President of Chad, Mahamat Idriss De\u0301by Itno, and the Algerian Prime Minister, Ai\u0308mene Benabderrahmane, who is on an official visit to Chad. This coincides with the launch of a strategic project in the energy sector aimed at supporting the electrical infrastructure in the country.<\/p>\n

The discussions, which took place at the Presidential Palace, followed the groundbreaking ceremony for the Farsha thermal power station, which will produce 40 megawatts of electricity in the capital, N’Djamena. Both sides reviewed the course of bilateral relations and ways to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries, in addition to monitoring the implementation of joint agreements signed in several vital sectors.<\/p>\n

In this context, the official launch of the construction works for the thermal station took place in the Farsha neighborhood of N’Djamena, under the supervision of the Chadian Prime Minister, Lamai Halina, and his Algerian counterpart, Ai\u0308mene Benabderrahmane, with the presence of high-level official delegations from both countries.<\/p>\n

The inauguration ceremony included the signing of an agreement for the project’s implementation between the relevant authorities, followed by the laying of the foundation stone to signal the start of the works. This step reflects the commitment of both countries to enhance economic and developmental cooperation, especially in the energy sector, which represents one of the major developmental challenges in Chad.<\/p>\n

The new station is expected to contribute to increasing electricity production capacity and improving the quality of related services, positively impacting the lives of citizens and economic activities in the capital and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n

The project is viewed as a model of cooperation between Chad and Algeria, embodying their mutual desire to expand the fields of strategic partnership, particularly in priority sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and sustainable development.<\/p>\n

The discussions between the Chadian President and the Algerian Prime Minister emphasized the importance of continuing joint coordination and activating bilateral agreements to serve the mutual interests of both countries and enhance stability and development in the region.<\/p>\n
