According to local reports citing sources and eyewitnesses, the confrontations have resulted in the deaths of at least 15 people and injuries to around 20 others, while local authorities and the federal government have not yet announced an official final toll of the victims, amid fears that the numbers may rise as tensions continue and armed groups spread across several neighborhoods in the city.<\/p>\n

Local residents confirmed that the warring tribal militias remain stationed in various locations within Gelgalcayo, which is the birthplace of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, and its surroundings, while mobilization and reinforcements from both sides continue, keeping the possibility of renewed armed confrontations imminent at any time.<\/p>\n

These clashes represent one of the most significant waves of tribal violence witnessed in the Hiran region in recent months, amid fears of the conflict expanding and its impact on local stability.<\/p>\n

In addition to the human losses, the tribal clashes have caused extensive material damage, with residents reporting that several homes were set on fire during the violence, leading to the displacement of dozens of families from the conflict areas in search of safer places.<\/p>\n
